Hello,

I have published a new article.

Some loss of balance may be associated with aging, but research has found a relationship between incontinence and risk of falls.  An increase of as much as 3 times!   Control of your bladder and maintaining your balance  rely on some of the same muscles.  Those who are incontinent tend to use of their muscles in a different pattern than those who are continent.  This may impede their ability to react to shifts in balance.   Luckily, this is reversible with focused muscle retraining.

Urinary Incontinence Causes Depression in the Elderly

Urinary incontinence and overactive bladder can lead to feelings of shame, embarrassment and the downward spiral of social isolation.  Helping yourself to overcome and control symptoms of urinary incontinence will keep you socially and mentally healthy  to enjoy life as you should.  Don’t let leaking or urgency stop you from enjoying your family, friends and social outings.
